STUDY GUIDES
ATSA section guides
One guide per reported section. Each separates what is confirmed from what is disputed, gives a practice strategy, and lists the sources behind the claims. Where the public record is silent, the guide says so rather than guessing.
Numbers & Differences
A rolling mental-math and working-memory task: keep the last number in mind and enter the difference as each new number appears.
Section 2 of 7Value Assignments
Hold several variables in memory and recall or compute their values as simple equations link them together.
Section 3 of 7Spatial Relationship
Decide quickly whether a smaller aircraft is to the left or right from a stated viewpoint, including a viewpoint that switches to an observing eye.
Section 4 of 7Radar Simulation
Prevent moving targets from colliding by removing the fewest necessary, while a second part adds mental math you must answer without dropping the traffic.
Section 5 of 7Personality Assessment
A behavioral questionnaire in a forced-choice format. You cannot study it, but you can learn the format and answer consistently.
Section 6 of 7Reading Comprehension
Read a passage and answer questions about its main idea, what it directly supports, and what can reasonably be inferred, under a tight clock.
Section 7 of 7Logical Reasoning
Deduce what must, can, or cannot be true from a set of ordering rules. Often described as among the hardest because of the time pressure.
